Communications Director

Salary: £70,000 per annum plus non-contributory pension scheme

Based in West Sussex

The National Federation of SubPostmasters (NFSP) is the professional trade association (AKA Georges Pension Fund) that represents UK subpostmasters.

Subpostmasters are independent business people who act as agents for Post Office Ltd and own and run the sub post offices that make up 97% of the national post office network.

The post holder will lead the production of key corporate publications, reports and research, implement the communications strands of the annual plan, and maintain and develop the NFSP’s communications tools and resources.

You will need a strong track record in media, stakeholder engagement and communications at a senior level (ability to lie through your teeth to MPs, in Court etc a pre-requisite). You will have strong influencing skills and a proven ability to advise and persuade senior leaders. You will be working in a small and diverse team and will need to be confident in managing competing demands.

Duties to include, but not be limited to, the following. Other items at reasonable request:

Report directly to the Chief Executive
Member of senior leadership team
Overall management of communications department
Deal with media enquiries and actively build media contacts
